IMAGIKA Announce New Singer, Rethink Name Change

San Francisco power/thrash metallers IMAGIKA have announced the addition of vocalist Norman Skinner (MACHINE CALLED MAN, TRAMOTANE) to the band's ranks. Skinner replaces longtime singer David Michael, who left IMAGIKA in August because his "heart wasn't in it anymore," according to an official statement from the rest of the group.

"The band feels [Norman is] a great replacement since he brings in a strong work ethic, great persona and most important a hell of a set of pipes! Fans of the band we'll not be disappointed since he'll continue with the vocal excellence the band has always put forth. Rehearsals and writing have already begun and we'll get him in a studio ASAP to finish off the new CD."

"As for the name IMAGIKA we've decided to keep it. In discussion with our former vocalist (Dave Michael) we agreed that too much has gone into the name of the band and we should carry on with it. So IMAGIKA IT IS!"

IMAGIKA's fourth album is due in early 2004 through an as-yet-undisclosed label. The band, who were previously signed to Germany's Massacre Records, released their last CD, "And So It Burns", in October 2000.
